This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the marine industry through service, leadership, dedication, innovation, and expertise.

About the Outstanding Marine Technician Award

The MBIA introduced this award to highlight the vital role marine technicians play in the boating industry. As MBIA Executive Director Nicki Polan noted:

“Marine technicians keep boats on the water. They are some of the most important positions in the marine industry, and their expertise is invaluable to our businesses. Unfortunately, they don’t often get the recognition they deserve, and that is why our Board of Directors has created this award.”

This year, the award was presented to five distinguished technicians across Michigan, each embodying the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and expertise. The award ceremony will take place during the MBIA’s Recreational Boating Educational Conference on December 4, 2024, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Grand Rapids.
