Former JBYS President and Founder, Greg Krueger, set the tone for his team’s customer care and dedication when he started at Jefferson Beach as a sales person in 1970, and worked his way to the top becoming #1 in sales within six months. Greg’s legacy continues to blaze as his team remains a top boating resource, sustaining the reputation as the most trusted place to purchase or sell your boat.
SALES & BROKERAGE PROFESSIONALS
Erik has spent his entire life boating and is fourth generation working in the industry. He received his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License at age 18 and has made numerous trips delivering yachts to and from the Great Lakes, East Coast and Florida. After college, Erik spent a year working at the Viking Yacht Company, and for the past 15 years he has been a yacht sales professional specializing in both new and pre-owned yachts. Erik’s extensive knowledge, attention to detail and passion for boating enables him to build lasting relationships with his clients. He strives to ensure total customer satisfaction and prides himself in always being available to his clients.
VP of Sales
Ron has spent most of his life on the water. He was born and raised on Cape Cod, and received his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License at 18. While working through his undergraduate education at Bentley College, Ron served as a charter captain, full-time summer captain and a delivery captain. He continues to serve these longtime clients. Ron went on to earn his MBA from Loyola University Chicago and currently oversees the JBYS Chicago location. Ron’s attention to detail, thoroughness and respect for every yacht he boards is honest. His ability to relate to and understand the needs of his clients has earned him many loyal customers.
Jim Kehrig, Jr.
St. Clair Shores, MI
After graduating from Oakland University, Jim began his career in the marine industry in 1988. After spending some time as a Service Manager, Jim turned his focus to sales. Since then he has proudly built close relationships with his clients by providing an uncompromising dedication to servicing their needs. Jim was raised in a family of experienced boaters and enjoys boating with his wife and three children.
Jim started boating at a very young age with his family on Lake Erie. Jim attended the Chapman School of Seamanship and at the age of 18 he received his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License. He has worked as a fishing guide as well as a private captain in both the North and South waters. Jim started selling boats in 1999 and enjoys working hard for his clients both before and after the sale.
St. Clair Shores, MI
Ron started selling boats in 1978 because he loved selling “fun.” Racing boats, skiing behind boats at over 100 mph or running yachts thousands of miles around the globe, Ron can’t think of anything better to do in life than to share his enthusiasm to get people into the boating lifestyle. Ron’s motto is: “Whether you’re seeking the ultimate rush or a bit of peace and tranquility, the boating lifestyle can take you there.”
Ryan is a Great Lakes native who grew up on the water in Keswick, Ontario, and has been around boats his entire life. Starting as a teen, he worked summers in the yard at a local marina, doing everything from detailing boats to eventually operating travel lifts and performing technical engine work. He attended Georgian College with a focus on Marine Technology and Engineering. Ryan also received his 100 Ton Masters License from the Chapman School of Seamanship and spent many years captaining and delivering boats and larger yachts. In 1999, he changed his focus to sales and quickly became a top performer working tirelessly for his many loyal clients. Ryan is a passionate boater, has extensive marine and brokerage experience and is highly knowledgeable in the leading boat brands.
Mathew has been involved in boating his entire life. He grew up on the waters of Boston’s North Shore and then moved to South Florida in 1994. After graduating high school, his love for the ocean drew him to pursue a nautical career. He earned his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License in 2000 and ran yachts ranging in size from 55 to 120 feet. Mathew has cruised the East Coast From New Brunswick, Canada to South Florida, the Great Lakes, Bahamas and beyond, all affording him vast knowledge and experience which takes him well beyond his age. In addition to his extensive captaining years, Mathew spent the past decade working as a sales and brokerage professional and has achieved top performer status with numerous accolades from his loyal customer base. Mathew’s passion for the boating lifestyle drives his ability to assist clients with their most finite boating needs, going above and beyond to deliver the ultimate boating experience while developing a genuine friendship along the way.
Loren is a Law Enforcement retiree who has been involved in boating for more than 25 years, in a diverse array of professional and recreational roles. Loren holds a 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License and a Dive Master Certification. His experiences include: Search and Rescue SCUBA Diver, towing and salvage, captaining a par-a-sail boat, serving as a marina harbor master and delivering boats all over the Great Lakes, East Coast and Florida. Loren’s varied boating skills and experiences continue to be a great way for him to create priceless memories on the water. Loren welcomes the opportunity to assist you with your boating needs and adventures.
Elliott grew up cruising the waters of Lake Charlevoix and the Great Lakes with his family. In addition to selling boats since 2009, he has been successful in classic boat restoration and sailboat racing. Elliott knows the Great Lakes very well from his racing experience and delivering numerous private yachts from Detroit to Chicago. He is currently working toward his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License. Elliott prides himself on being able to provide his customers with quick and knowledgeable responses and prompt service. In his free time, you can find Elliott enjoying the water with his family, or in his shop restoring another “classic boat.”
David comes from a family of knowledgeable boaters and has spent the majority of his life on the waters on Lake Michigan. Currently, he is working towards his 50-ton USCG Captain’s License and recently graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Finance. David wants to follow his passion for boating and believes his finance background will serve his clients well in the marine industry. His extensive knowledge of the boating market and industry trends will allow him to deliver the perfect boat for the needs and desires of his clients.
St. Clair Shores, MI
Andy has been in the marine industry for over 30 years. He started back in 1985 with his boat washing company and continued to grow into the service side of the industry. After many years in the service side of boating, he moved into sales and started his own inside heated storage facility and sales office. Andy is currently on the board with the MBIA and is also involved with many committees at various local boat and yacht clubs. He is a lifetime boater who was born and raised on Lake St. Clair.

Dave grew up on the Great Lakes and has been a boater all his life. He has worked in the marine industry since 1980 and has gained experience from several boat manufacturers along the east and west coasts of the USA. Dave has spent the last 20 years working in marine service. He holds a degree in business management and is committed to the boating industry, specifically the service needs of JBYS customers.
Service and Warranty
Steele holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University and has worked in the marine industry for over 40 years. After spending 15 years working in boat manufacturing, he moved into retail and warranty service at Jefferson Beach in 1989. Steele is an industry veteran and is driven to deliver customers the best experience possible.
Cathy comes to JBYS with over a decade of experience working in the boating industry. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Aquinas College and worked as a school teacher for many years. After becoming active in the sailboat racing scene, Cathy changed careers from teaching to boating and hasn’t ever looked back! Cathy’s own sailboat is right here at Jefferson Beach Marina, JBYS headquarters in St. Clair Shores, MI. Being a part of the JBYS team is a perfect match for her experience and love for boating.
David is a life-long boater and started his marine career in his family’s fishing charter business. He has been working in the technical marine service industry since 1982 and has many certifications including MAN Diesel service. Dave is a well-known expert in diesel mechanics throughout the service industry. He travels extensively for new boat deliveries and warranty repairs. He also oversees and coordinates diesel repairs and service scheduling. Dave loves being on the water with his family, enjoying the lifestyle that boating offers.
Jerome grew up boating on and around Lake St. Clair and surrounding flats. He has worked in the marine industry for over 12 years, specializing in diverse mechanical work and operating marine equipment. Jerome holds a 50 Ton USCG Captain’s License and Towing Endorsement, and is a partner of the Lake St. Clair fishing and duck hunting outfit, Flatsman Charters. Jerome lives on the water and, of course, likes to fish and hunt in his free time.
Kevin has worked in the marine industry since 1985 and has extensive experience in the area of marine electronics. He grew up on Lake St. Clair and studied electronic engineering technology and communications during college. Kevin has a laser-sharp focus on detail, with exceptional abilities to troubleshoot and implement solutions when it comes to marine service technologies. Kevin is an avid hiker, biker and backpacker and has traveled all over North and Central America on his expeditions.
Nick grew up working in his father’s mechanic shop and prides himself as being a great all-around technician. He loves boating, jetskiing and waterskiing and also spends his free time coaching youth hockey.
Tony grew up boating with his family on Lake Michigan. At an early age he crewed for his father’s charter fishing boat, and earned his 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License in 1985. Thereafter, he began AML Yacht Service, acting as a private captain and personal representative. His extensive travels have taken him up and down the East Coast, through the New York Canal systems and inner River System and all over the Great Lakes. Tony’s knowledge of boats is very extensive. He is enthusiastic about sharing his industry knowledge and enjoys helping each person find the right boat for their needs and desires.
Amy Krueger Malow
Amy has spent her entire life enjoying the boating lifestyle and grew up extensively involved in the family boating business. She holds Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Human Nutrition, is a Registered Dietitian and has earned numerous continuing education certificates in the areas of business management, leadership, entrepreneurism, marketing and corporate wellness. After working in clinical settings and in public health administration for over 10 years, Amy decided to officially join the leadership team at JBYS in 2005. Amy has considerable experience leading teams and large coalitions in both the public and private sectors, and is a firm believer that employee wellness and satisfaction is key in delivering the ultimate customer experience.

Stephanie has been in the marine industry since 1992 and has spent her life enjoying boating and water recreation. She graduated from Oakland University with an Accounting degree and joined the JBYS team in 1997. Stephanie’s dedication has earned JBYS the reputation of being ’squeaky clean’ when it comes to finances and audits.
Jody has worked in the marine industry since 2005. She has extensive knowledge and expertise when handling customer needs from the beginning of the sale to closing. This allows her to guide JBYS customers smoothly and efficiently through the closing process. Jody also understands that purchasing a boat is a big decision, and she works diligently with lending sources and financial institutions to obtain the best rate possible for your investment.
Marketing and Administrative Assistant
Valerie was born and raised in a family of avid boaters and fishermen. Having spent her entire life growing up on both Lake Charlevoix and the Atlantic Ocean, she comes to us with an incredible passion for boating and life on the water. Valerie is a recent graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Television, Radio, Film and Media Management. She has an extensive media background and has a lot of exciting skills in video production, marketing, graphic design and communications.
Caroline grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan and boating is her number one passion! In fact, almost all members of her family are boat owners or work in the boat business. She graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor’s in Communication and a minor in History. After graduation, she worked in Spain for a year and travelled across America before returning to Chicago. Caroline joined the JBYS team as the Chicago Office Assistant in early 2012. She is the friendly face always ready and willing to help out slip tenants, and is key to helping manage our Chicago location.
