Description

2006 SEA RAY 40 SUNDANCER — LA NENA

40′ 0″ (12.19 m) · Twin Cummins QSB5.9 Diesels · Express Cruiser

VESSEL OVERVIEW

La Nena carries the twin Cummins QSB5.9 380-horsepower diesel package — the configuration most sought after in this model, and the one that holds value against the gas-powered alternatives that make up much of the market. Backed by V-drives and an Onan 8.5 kW diesel generator.

Her mechanical and helm systems received significant attention recently. The helm was fitted with a Simrad suite: two 12-inch NSS12 evo3 displays, radar, autopilot and an RS35 VHF. Most 40 Sundancers on the market today still run the original-generation electronics they left the factory with.

The cockpit is the strongest part of the boat. A full camper enclosure with Strataglass and a dedicated air-conditioning unit for the helm and cockpit make the space genuinely usable through a Florida summer, not only a Florida winter. SeaDek flooring, a full wet bar and a cockpit television complete a layout built for entertaining at the dock as much as running offshore.

WHY THIS VESSEL

The diesel package buyers ask for. Twin Cummins QSB5.9 380s on V-drives. A significant share of the fleet runs gas MerCruiser power, and the diesel boats consistently command the premium.

A helm a generation ahead of the field. Most competing 40 Sundancers still run their original factory electronics.

A cockpit that works twelve months a year. Full enclosure plus dedicated cockpit air — the difference between a boat used in season and one used year-round.

The expensive service is behind her. Heat exchangers pulled, cleaned and reinstalled — the item most often deferred on a diesel boat of this age, and the first thing a surveyor looks for.
